TRAILBLAZER Vol. 11, Article 5: “Y+ SOLUTIONS: OUR MEDICINE FOR DYING AGRICULTURE”

It’s very ironic that farmers in our country have to feed the entire population with rice, yet the income they generate is less than what it takes to experience a comfortable life. Even worse at this point in time, we worry about our farm lands being on the verge of conversion for industrialization, the chances of pushing the farmers into extreme poverty as an aftermath of unemployment, the continuing decrease of rice production as we are persistently engulfed with conventional farming methods, the likelihood of becoming dependent rice importer and ultimately, our Rice Farmers being classified as a dying breed.

With this in mind, various groups may offer solutions that won’t actually cure the industry. This is why Team ALJAY formulated a solution which will provide long term medicine to it.

Team ALJAY advocates for the Filipino Youth to enhance agriculture and be part of the movement to save the industry. Let’s get real, with Filipino farmer’s average age of 57 and average life span of 70, these 13 years is surely not a lucky number for the whole country as it can never suffice the need for our main crop throughout the years to come. As a solution, our YFarmers (Philippine Youth Farmers) are equipped to ignite the innovative and young blood and to launch the “New Face” of Filipino farmers in the industry as we believe that the #RiseoftheYFarmers shall contribute to the sustainability of agriculture in our country. If it’s not the young generation, who else will better pioneer farming for the generations to come?

However, this advocacy is only part of the bigger vision, a vision that is a product of both dream and passion. A DREAM to be globally competitive in crops production nurtured with PASSION to rebrand the farming industry into something cool and profitable alternative for younger generation and general public as part of their lifestyle.

Hence, together with the advocacy for the Filipino Youth, Team ALJAY- as Agrisolutions Provider – devised a full packed  technological scheme for Filipino Farmers which we proudly call Y+ SOLUTIONS. This aims to reshape our industry and disconnect agriculture from the common view that farming is hard and offers no opportunity.

This solution comprises of hybridization through a complete set of ALJAY TECHNOLOGY and mechanization through modern farming practices combined with technologically advanced equipment with the purpose of achieving higher yield for growth and profitability.

The Y+ Solutions starts off with our very own Hybrid Rice Seed, Batari. Our differentiated fertilizers, Ang Abono Ng May Pangarap namely ProZinc, Ultra 7 and Shield are also included as part of this new Aljay Technology. In addition, the Power of Ocean is fused for a better yield through our biotechnology products, Alga 600 and Leili 2000. Along with these innovated products are new and improved crop protections- Vermax (rice herbicide), Pantas, Legion and Altap (insecticides), Galtero and Benomax (fungicides), and Laser (molluscicide).

But the solution does not stop upon distribution of products. Y+ Solutions includes the after-sales services provided through our Customer Service Team, Demand Creation Personnel and Research Field Personnel. These teams were created so customers may always reach us for free consultation services to monitor the progress of rice plants through Y+ Solutions Calendar and to assure its promised yield of 8-10 metric tons.

Let us not forget that amidst the pandemic, what we strongly need is a limitless supply of basic necessities and most important of which is rice. To be receptive of new farming technologies is not an option for the recalibration of Filipino Farming. In this time that the world has been facing a lot of adversities where the word “enough” is not sufficient anymore, let us hand in hand surpass the old and traditional ways of farming and overshadow them with modern farming technology while integrating our Philippine   Youth Farmers for agricultural sustainability.

Altogether, we bring more life to our fields and put more colors in our dreams. Rebrand Agriculture!
